Jacob “Jack” J. Lew the 56 year old US Director of the White House Management and Budget recently was appointed the White House Chief of Staff after the resignation of William ‘Bill’ Daley. In an article published by Luke Johnson, Johnson describes how “As the White House’s budget director, Lew has received praise for working with Republicans, even from one of Obama’s harshest critics, “No one was more prepared and more in tune with the numbers than Jack Lew,” said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) … “He was always very polite and respectful in his tone and someone who I can tell is very committed to his principles.” Lew also previously served as Deputy Director and then Director of Office of Management and Budget in the Clinton Administration from 1995 to 2001. “…in 2008, he served as chief operating officer of Citigroup Alternative Investments, investing in a hedge fund that bet on the housing market to collapse… From 2009 to 2010, Lewworked for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as deputy secretary for management and resources.”

Frédéric Lefebvre the 47 year old French Secretary of State with responsibilities for tourism has created some bemusement within the industry as he adds credibility to the fabled stories of French rudeness. Lefebvre is concerned the myth of the French shop keeper as a sneering grouch depicts the French unfavorably. Lefebvre stated he “would like to make a strong effort to improve the sense of welcoming in France”, and is keen to promote an alternative perception that there is more to French tourism than the Eiffel Tower. While tourist numbers to France are the highest in the world, the duration of visitor stays are quite short resulting in lower sales per visit. The Ministry is advocating a new marketing strategy with smiles abundant, promoting provincial cities, regions and festivals. Warren Minor Christopher the former Secretary of State during the Clinton first presidential term has died at the age of 85 from complications of kidney and bladder cancer. Described as a diplomat’s diplomat for his talent and dedication, President Obama referred to him as a "resolute pursuer of peace" for his work in the Middle East and the Balkans. He is renowned for negotiating a settlement in 1980 to the Iran hostage crisis on the eve of Reagan’s presidential win, and as the force behind the US eventual confrontation to the ethnic violence in the Balkans and Rwanda. Christopher shunned publicity and avoided the spotlight even while being in high profile positions throughout his career, allowing his underlings to take the limelight in his place. My work digital art is essentially political art, or rather politics and art. It’s about iconic people, places and events of our day.  Recorded visually through daily compilations of manipulated digital images, posted online and disseminated via online media and social networks. The works are diaristic in nature that metaphorically record a spectator’s experience of the contemporary digital age.  The resulting work intentionally has a painterly aesthetic acknowledging my historical painting practice.
