Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson the 44 year old conservative Mayor of London has announced a Foresight Environmental Fund to create waste and recycling facilities in London in an effort to reduce the city’s carbon footprint. The fund is to be financed by a group of fund managers calling themselves the Foresight Group, will have a brief to involve recycling plants, incinerators and power stations to utilize waste biomass from London’s near 3 million tonnes per year of organic waste, and to recycle the city’s vast wastage of plastics to landfill. Significant revenues are anticipated from the plastic recycling, composting and energy generation from the initiatives announcement at the start of the City’s Climate Week.
