Patricia Spottedcrow a 25 year old Oklahoma mother of four children has been sentenced as a first time felony offender to 12 years imprisonment for the sale of $31 worth of marijuana to an undercover police officer. Spottedcrow had been arrested with two other of her family members, her mother received lengthy probation on more serious charges, and her brother also probation of lesser charges. Spottedcrow however failed to show the necessary remorse to satisfy Judge Susie Pritchett. Pritchett was quoted saying the "sentence fit the crime" as "Ms. Spottedcrow showed no signs of remorse, nor did she seem to even care about what she was doing to her children”. Spottedcrow’s four children are now being cared for by her ‘accomplice’ mother, who can’t afford the costs to visit the prison.
