Ronald Ernest “Ron” Paul the 75 year old Texan medical doctor and US Republican Congressman and candidate for the 2012 presidential nomination thinks declaring “bankruptcy” might be a good idea on how the US should deal with the growing debt problem confronting the US government. Paul has been referred to as the ‘Intellectual godfather’ of the Tea Party movement and has the most conservative voting record of any member of Congress. Paul wants to convert the U.S. monetary system to one based on the gold standard, and has introduced a bill to audit and inventory the US gold reserves, with the intention to eliminate the Federal Reserve as a way to reduce the deficit by $1.6trill that the government owes to the Reserve, believing this action would provide reassurance to the markets. Jennifer Robinson the Australian lawyer instructing the international barrister Geoffrey Robertson for Julian Assange against his extradition proceedings to Sweden and possibly the United States has suggested she had been intimidated by the US Justice Administration and put under surveillance. Robinson described as a high achiever believes Assange has no hope of receiving a fair trial in Sweden with the politically motivated prosecution being brought to satisfy the wrath of the US government. Robinson singles out the Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard for complicity in the persecution of Assange over her statement that leaking US documents on WikiLeaks was an ‘illegal act’, but could not identify any Australian laws that Assange had breached. Robinson accused her of kowtowing to the US for political opportunity. Inspired by Nicole Hasham ow.ly/4Q9Yg image source arcticcompass ow.ly/4QatV It was political opportunity at work (May 17 2011)

Alexander Macgillivray the cyber law expert headed up the Twitter legal challenge to the US Government’s attempts to maintain secrecy over their subpoena for WikiLeaks Calls himself a tinkerer of sorts (January 11 2011)

Alexander Macgillivray the cyber law expert headed up the Twitter legal challenge to the US Government’s attempts to maintain secrecy over their subpoena for WikiLeaks related material.  Unlike many other tech companies who merely comply with the US bully tactics, Twitter resisted the secrecy and fought to have the status of the subpoenas revealed in order to advise their user clients of the USDoj request for their personal information which includes all mailing addresses, billing information, connection records, session times, all IP addresses used to access Twitter, all known email accounts, as well as the ‘means and source of payment,’ including banking records and credit cards. Macgillivray recruited from Google, oversees the 25 strong Twitter legal team.
