Eva Ottoson a 56 year old British mother of two is donating her uterus to be transplanted into her 25 year old daughter Sara who was born without a womb due to a condition known as Mayer Rokitanksy Kuster Hauser syndrome. Eva will undergo the groundbreaking surgery procedure in the hope her daughter will be able to have her own child from the womb from which she was born. Although not the first time this attempt at a transplant has been undertaken, the first being unsuccessful, this time the donor and host have a direct genetic link hoped to be more compatible, along with advances in the medical knowledge and techniques.
